Ambit Energy announced at Ambition, its annual convention held in Dallas, that it will be expanding into new markets in the coming months.
Beginning Sept. 30, Ambit Energy will expand in Pennsylvania to the UGI-Electric, UGI-Central Penn Gas and UGI-Penn Natural Gas markets. These include both residential and small commercial accounts with 240,000 potential customers. Ambit Energy Consultants can begin enrolling customers in these territories starting Sept. 30. These will be three new markets in already-existing Ambit Energy Pennsylvania markets.
Ambit will also expand into Maine–its 14th stat–in January 2015. Service territories will be Central Maine Power Company and Emera Maine (Formerly Bangor Hydro Electric). Enrollments can begin Jan. 30, 2015, This includes residential and small commercial for a potential 723,000 customers.
Ambit Energy is currently the sixth-largest retail energy provider in the country with more than 1.3 million customers and an annual revenue of more than $1.3 billion.
